Have you ever wondered if you were REALLY picking the best brow color for your client?
Do you ever feel truly confident in your healed work?
I struggled with these 2 issues to until I learned to properly modify and dilute my brow pigments
Modification is the act of adding an additional color to a brow pigment in order to modify it. We can choose to modify brow colors to be either cooler or warmer. This will depend on several factors including the color you are starting with, the client's desired healed result, and the client's undertone. These are just a few of the many reasons modifying your pigment may be necessary.
Unfortunately, many times the pigments you see in the bottles are not TRULY customized for the client in front of us. More times than not we need to warm them up a little and dilute them in order to get an appropriate healed result.
Our favorite modifiers are Blazing Copper and Golden Corrector by Permablend. We find these 2 colors are all we usually need to adjust the brown to get to the desired target color for the client in the chair!
Our favorite base brow colors to have on hand are Forest Brown and Espresso by Permablend. We find between these and the 2 modifiers mentioned above we can make pretty much any color we need!
The last piece of the puzzle for a truly beautiful healed result is dilution
Dilution adds a beautiful, sheer quality to the healed brows and should be added to your mix for each client. Most glycerin based pigments out of the bottle tend to just be too concentrated and leave too heavy of a saturation behind in the skin.
How much dilution is used will be be dependent upon your client's end goal and their skin undertone
Our favorite Dilution is Thin Dilution Solution by Permablend
We ALWAYS recommend a strong color theory class as well to just make sure you are at the top of your HEALED RESULT GAME!
Our favorite is Beyond The Epidermis by Teryn Darling of Girlz Ink.
It is JAM PACKED with every single bit of knowledge you will need to nail the perfect color EVERY TIME
